Promote Your Blog With Social Media

How to Promote Your Blog With Social Media ?

Are you looking to use social media to promote your blog?

Sharing your blog posts on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and even Tumblr can help your content gain significant exposure. But each social media platform is distinct with different benefits and abilities. You need a simple process to tailor your social sharing to generate as much engagement as you can on each of these platforms.

Like blogging, social media sites are today’s trending tool for communication. It is an easy and quick portal to share content, connect with other people and create a “network” or community. In recent months, we saw another social media platform that is now making waves worldwide – Google+. The rise of social networking has transformed the way people use the Internet. It has become a necessary part of our lifestyle. Different business industries are positioning themselves well to get a fair share of the social media exposure. With social media, your business can gain better marketing leverage plus, adding some value to your brand.

Social media and blogging as one!

Blogging and social media are the perfect combination for your online business. You just have to know the proper way of marketing your blog posts to your favorite social media network like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and many others (including Pinterest). Below are some effective ways you can promote your blog through social media networking.

1. Facebook Promotion :

Facebook offers a number of ways to promote your blog site and posts. For starters, you can create a Facebook Page for yourself or your blog. An unlimited number of fan will be sent updates whenever you update your page with new notes, articles, photos, etc, and you can also send everyone on your fans list direct Facebook messages.

To promote your new blog articles, you can post a link on your profile, which shows up in your friends’ News Feeds, and post a link into your status update. You can also join groups and post related links on the group’s discussion wall.

For example, for the following blog,

when i share this link to my Facebook account, the following window appears.

After sharing this link, your friends can see it on your timeline. Facebook often only shares the link on the page, not the comments about that link. You should consider doing this too. If you don’t add text, your friends won’t have a context for why you’re sharing the link.

2. Twitter Promotion :

Twitter is probably the simplest network to use to promote your blog. Simply post a eye-catching, 140 character or less tweet with a link to your new article. Be sure to include the top keywords for that article, since not only your followers will see it, but people using Twitter search may come across it as well. An added bonus would be to check which queries are popular the day of your post, and use those keywords in your Tweet.

For example, for the following blog,

when i share this link to my Twitter account, the following window appears.

After sharing this link on twitter with proper keywords, not only your followers will see it, but people using Twitter search may come across it as well.

3. StumbleUpon Promotion :

StumbleUpon is the top source of incoming traffic. When I publish a new article that I want to share with others, I use the StumbleUpon toolbar in Firefox to share that post with all my friends and fans using the Send To option. Also, there are groups on StumbleUpon. If your blog is about Gmail, then join the that group and get your link posted as a related site, or add a Gmail-related article to the discussion pages.

For example, for the following blog,

when you add a new page to your Stumble account, the following window appears. After filling the appropriate information, you can add this page and others can stumble or like your page.

4. Tumblr Promotion :

Tumblr makes it really easy to share your blog post. You can share with the “text” or “photo” or "link" options. Here’s how to share with the “link” option.
Just after you’ve published a post, share it with Tumblr by clickink on the "link". After clicking on “text,” you :

- Enter the url of your blog.
- Type in your blog’s title.
- Type a little description of your blog.

For example, for the following blog,

this information is filled.

That's it. Now after clicking post button, your followers are ready to see, comment and share your blog post.

5. Google+ Promotion :

Sharing your blog post with the world on your site and on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn isn’t enough. I’m also a huge fan of Google+. In addition to being an amazingly helpful social media platform, Google+ allows you to train Google on how to categorize your site in searches.

For example, for the following blog,

when i share it to G+, the following window appears.

As you clicked share button, all your contacts are ready to see it.

6. Digg Promotion :

Digg allows members to share sites via voting, or Digging, them. The best method of sharing links via this site is not to do self-submissions, but to add a Digg submission button or badge to each article and let your readers submit your story.

For example, for the following blog,

when you digg your blog, the following window appears.

7. Reddit Promotion :

This network is similar to Digg in the sense that it allows voting/rating for articles.

For example, for the following blog,

when you share your blog to Reddit, the following informations are to br filled up.

There are many more social networking sites like Linkedin, Delicious, Technorati, Plurk, Diggo, Pinterest, Folkd, Myspace. You can use any of these or all of these social networking sites to promote your blog and get as many hits and clicks as you want.

Online Advertising

Classified Ads

Classified can be your most effective means of advertising as far as reach. For example, you may have $10,000 per month to spend on print advertising. You can either spend $10,000 on two large display ads in different magazines, or place classified ads in 100 different magazines. Advertising in 100 magazines will better help you reach more people, even on a national or international basis. Classified ads are also highly cost effective. You can potentially receive lots of leads from a smaller ad that costs much less than a larger display ad, for example. The key with classified advertising is to select the publications that best reaches the consumers in which you are targeting.

Direct Mail

Direct mail is a highly targeted type of advertising, according to the United States Postal Service. Companies that use direct mail purchase mailing lists of consumers who typically buy their types of products. For example, you may own a mail order book publishing business. Consequently, you may purchase a mailing list of book buyers from a mailing list vendor. The mailing list may include consumers who have purchased books in the past 90 days. Therefore, you may likely receive orders from people on the list because it targets active book buyers.

Yellow Pages

Yellow pages can be highly effective if you are marketing to a local audience. For example, movie theaters, beauty salons, jewelers, hardware stores and florists advertise in the local yellow pages. Yellow page ads are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. You can easily get noticed in the yellow pages by using a larger display advertisement than your competitors. Adding color and pictures can also help draw more attention to your ad. Place your yellow pages ad in as many categories as possible. For example, advertise your beauty salon under both "Beauty Salons" and "Hair Care," if both categories exist. Also, place ads in the online yellow pages, too, because some people will use the Internet to look you up.

Online Marketing is the art and science of selling products and/or services over digital networks, such as the Internet and cellular phone networks.

The art of online marketing involves finding the right online marketing mix of strategies that appeals to your target market and will actually translate into sales.

The science of online marketing is the research and analysis that goes into both choosing the online marketing strategies to use and measuring the success of those online marketing strategies.Use of internet as an advertising medium where promotional messages appear on a computer screen. Since the communication software (browser) reveals sufficient information about the site's visitors, online advertising can be custom-tailored to match user preferences. A public promotion of some products or services.

Most Effective Means of Advertising

The most effective means of advertising will often depend on your company's industry, your business objectives and your financial situation. Online companies, for example, may benefit more from Internet advertising, as people can go directly to their websites. Contrarily, a television ad campaign will not be very effective if you do not have the necessary advertising dollars. There are advantages to using all types of advertising. Learn to recognize what advertising works best for you.Email Marketing

Email marketing can be very cost effective. It does not cost any money to send out emails. You will only be paying for the email lists themselves. For example, you may buy a list of people interested in owning their own businesses. You will need email software so you can send all of your emails out at once. Sending tens or hundreds of thousands of emails out simultaneously can be a highly effective way of marketing your products. You only need a small fraction of those people in order to earn a significant profit.

Types of online advertising

And unlike any other form of advertising, online advertising is highly measurable. There are several ways through which you can measure ad success such as click-through rate, page impressions, cost per sale, etc.

For online advertising you will usually need to buy space in the high-traffic websites, to post your ad. You can also do ad-exchange with some websites.

Banner Ads

Banner advertising was the first kind of advertising ever done on the net. A banner can highlight your product/service/offer and by clicking on it the user will be taken to your website, where you can create a suitable landing page to provide his further information. Banner spaces are usually sold by impressions, or banner views, but it is sometimes sold by click-through, when you pay only when the user clicks on the banner.

To post a banner ad, you can do either or all of the following:

Banner exchange where another website displays your ad in exchange of you displaying for them
Pay publisher sites to post your banner
Pay a banner network to post the banner ad on a number of publisher sites

Pop-up Ads

It's the thing of the past now. With a variety of pop-up blockers available freely, it makes no sense in investing in this form of advertising as it irritates the viewer.

Floating Ads

These ads appear when you first go to a webpage, and they "float" over the page for five to 30 seconds. While they are on the screen, they obscure your view of the page you are trying to read, and they often block mouse input as well. These ads appear each time that page is refreshed.

Floating ads are popular for several reasons:

They grab the viewer's attention and cannot be ignored
    They are animated
They have audio/video content like TV ads
They can take up the entire screen, therefore from a branding standpoint, they are much more powerful than a banner ad or a sidebar ad
They have a high click-through rate of about 3 percent

However, many users get highly irritated because of these ads.

Contextual Ads

Contextual advertising is a type of online advertising commonly used for content-based websites. With contextual advertising, targeted ads appear based on the page's actual content. First, a contextual advertising system scans the text of a webpage for keyword phrases. Then, the system returns specific, targeted ads based on the content people are viewing. This is becoming very popular as the ads can be targeted based on the users' interests.

There are many other ways in which you can advertise like embedding your ad/brand in online games, chat rooms, etc. Rich media interactive ads can also be creatively used in a lot of different ways. Once you get started - you'll be able to explore great opportunities in this area.

Tips For Hiring the Right SEO Firm

Tips For Hiring the Right SEO Firm

You've got a problem. You've been tasked with hiring an search engine optimization (SEO) firm to provide various online marketing services to your company. You went out and did a search on Google for “[Your geographic location] + seo” and got  a list of 3oo+ SEO firms.

You start contacting the firms starting with the one at the top, since it seems reasonable that the guy at the top must know what he's doing. But as you contact the firms they all tell you the same things. Can anyone here tell me how every would-be Internet Marketer on the planet can promise every client to get them onto the first page of Google natural search?” The easy answer is that some can deliver while others can't. But if that's the case, how do you figure out which SEO firm to hire?

First, let's clear up some misconceptions about SEO firms.

A nice-looking website does not a good SEO firm make. If you’re looking to hire an SEO firm that can also take care of designing your new website, then yes, you should probably consider how good their own website looks. But if you're only looking for top-notch SEO some of the best firms have websites that are second-rate at best.

The SEO firm that ranks first in your geographic area is not necessarily the one you should work and opt. I'm going to let you in on a secret. My own firm almost always shows up first in Google fo “Asia's No.1 SEO and KPO” and has for most of the past 1o years. but it’s not because we're the best SEO firm in Asia. I’m not saying we're not the best SEO firm in Asia, but if we are that's not why our website ranks high , but  because a lot of our competitors are doing a better job of SEO on their own websites than we are doing on ours. Why does our website continue to rank 1 for “Asia's No.1 SEO and KPO”. Sure, we have some decent content on the site, we've got the code right for the most part, and we have some good inbound links, but mostly it’s because we were one of the first Aviation SEO finns in Asia . We are amongst the first who has redefined the term SEO in the World Of Aviation.

Google puts a lot of weight on those two factors, and fortunately for us, it's hard for anyone else to compete without a time machine.

• The best “SEO firm” for you might not be much of a firm. Bigger is not better, Less sometimes, but not always, is more, The right SEO firm for you might have
one or two employees working from a basement. Or it might be the SEO firm with 5oo employees. Don't write either one off automatica1y.

Now, on to the meet-how do you hire the right SEO firm?

1. Decide what you need.
Do you need link removal, reputation management, a one time SEO audit, ongoing SEO, link building , PPC management, retargeting, content marketing, or one ot the other 2o services SEO firms frequently offer?

If you're not sure what you need, start by figuring out the job to be done. Do you want to grow sales by 2016 over the next 12 months, or leads by 500 over the next six months? Is your goal increased rankings, or do you just need the boss to know that someone is working on SEO and then you can check this bothersome item off your to-do list? Have a goal in mind by which you will measure the success of your engagement with your SEO firm, and make that goal the center ot your communication with them. If you can't measure how successful your SEO efforts are, you're less likely to be successful with them.

2. Get multiple consultations, but keep it secret.

Once you know what you want, sit down with an SEO firm, in person or by phone or email, that seems reasonably qualified and ask them to help you figure out what you need to do. Most SEO firms will gladly offer a free consultation because they know by doing so they have a chance to impress you and win your business. This time will also help you to know if you like the firm and the people you’ll be working with.

3. Get case studies and references.

The #1 question you want answered from an SEO firm is CC. Are you going to help me get my job done?” If you run a self storage company, and you talk to an SEO firm that has done work with one or other self storage companies, and they've all had good results, then that's a reasonably good predictor they’ll be successful working with your company. If your company is unique and you need a generalist SEO firm rather than one that focuses exclusively on your industry, get case studies and references from SEO firms that have at least done work for clients with similar business models and similar “jobs to be done” as yours.

See these as an example of Case Studies for the people who have tried to prove themselves on their own :

4. Make the firm tell you their Success stories.

A good SEO firm executes tactically. A great SEO firm does that, but is highly creative as well, and creative people tell good stories. Stories also allow you to get a truer vision of what the SEO firm is all about. Case studies and references are like looking up someone’s Linkedln profile. You should do that before hiring an employee, but you wouldn’t hire someone based exclusively on their Linkedln profile. You’d also want to hear them tell you stories about their background, experience, and successes and failures.Ask the SEO firm how they were founded, what their best client experience was, what their worst client experience was and how they handled it, and how they’ve improved over the years. Even if you have made up your mind after following the first three tips, as you listen to stories you may completely change your opinion.

Setting clear goals, getting multiple bids, examining predictors of the future,
and listening to stories-that’s how you ensure you'll hire the right SEO firm.
Are there exceptions? Sure.
At my own firm we're terrible at producing formal case studies. We're busy doing the work that produces results for our clients, and although we have the case studies and references from clients to the highest pdiority. Listening to stories is a way to better see the reality behind the company.

Blog Comments, Blog Commenting, Importance of Blog Commenting, How to write comments.

Blog Comments :

Blog comments are what make a blog interactive and social. The most popular blogs have a very interactive community who voice their opinions on posts frequently. It's that social aspect that makes blogs such a powerful component of the social web. People like to feel involved. Leaving blog comments allows readers to join in on the conversation about a topic that interests them. Blog comments are the lifeblood of a blog. Comments are what separates a blog from a static website. As the conversation builds, so will your relationship with your readers and so will your blog's popularity. Encourage your readers to join in the discussion and leave comments and respond promptly to the comments left by your readers to make them feel valued. Just as you don't like to be ignored when you address someone in person, you don't want to ignore your readers when they address you through a blog comment.

Importance of Blog Commenting :

Blog commenting has become more popular in today's world and it helps to increase traffic and improve search engine
ranking of  websites. Blogging helps people to share ideas and views with others, post some new information which is not added in the article and paves the way for discussions, etc. While posting we add our name and URLs that helps us in creating back links.

Choosing relevant Blog :

In order to be effective in promotion, blog comments need to be on related niche blogs, valuable, timely and consistent
with the URL naming convention. For choosing such relevant do follow blogs, we do keywords search using search engines.

The search  results give you links that describe topics on the keywords. Now you can start commenting and discussing with the participants of that blog.  Hence, choosing relevant blogs is one of ways for increasing free back links for your
website. An interesting aspect of blog comments is the fact that people who leave comments on your blog can also leave links to other blogs or websites or their own blogs to further the conversation. These links can be a great resource to help you find new blogs to read, like-minded bloggers, and new post ideas. Additionally, bloggers can leave trackbacks on your blog through blog comments when they link to your blog posts on their blogs. Trackbacks are another great way to help you build relationships with other bloggers as well as to drive new traffic to your blog from the links on those other blogs.

Why blogs omit registration and login?

Most of the blog readers and blog commentators do not like registration and login as they feel that blogs should be
informative and easy to get ideas quickly.  But some of the blog owners feel that people who login can be engaged and more committed in blog community to give valuable comments. As people always look for an easy method, blog owners do not want the registration and login method.

How to write comments?

- Back links: Before submitting a comment, we must provide url in the comment. Adding url and name along with the comment,

is one way of getting inbound links to website.

- Popularity: Adding valuable comments to blogs would increase popularity to your website. Blog commenting is a good way to make your names familiar with many bloggers across the world. Spend time on writing valuable comments for others blog; you will receive valuable comments for your website.  Number of valuable comments on others blog is directly proportional to number of comments for your website.

What search engines do for comments?

Search engines always look for fresh and new content. Blog commenting and forum discussions are often featured high in search results. Search engines see blog comments as contents and not as comments. Sometimes it is like other people writing contents for you. People engage themselves by posting a comment by asking a question, someone would reply in their comments, blog owners can provide some other resource, and thus it continues till they get the right answers. Blog commenting actual paves the way for developing good content.

As a blogger, even if you are some blog rockstar, you should be playing two roles: the blogger and the commentator. This is very much a circle of communicating in where you should give and receive information… not just give or not just expect to receive. You should be blogging regularly and you should be commenting regularly on websites. You also should try to make an effort to engage in conversation on both your blog and on other blogs. Now, when I say that, I mean you might want to interact with the other commentators on other blogs as well. The bonus to doing it is that you could end up widening your own blog circle in the end, as well as learning a great deal more.

Finally by reading all the above mentioned process of blog commenting, one can understand the importance of blog
commenting and adopt few techniques while writing a comment.

Search Engine Optimization Tips For Your Blog

Search Engine Optimization Tips For Your Blog (SEO Tips)

Blogs are the current rage, and many webmasters have blogs but fail to use their blog to it’s full potential. Blogs provide a steady stream of fresh content, and if this content is written and optimized properly, blogs have the ability to increase a website’s ranking in the search engines.

Host Your Own Blog
In order to prosper from a blog, be sure to host it on your own domain. Hosting the blog on your own server will maximize the links to your website. Link popularity is one of the factors search engines use to rank websites. Resist the urge to use free hosting services, do not give away your link popularity!

RSS Feeds
All blogs should have an RSS feed. An RSS feed will allow for your blog posts to be easily syndicated. The syndication will result in links back to your blog from RSS directories or others who display the feed. Blog entries should be available via an RSS feed. Website visitors who subscribe to the feed will receive notification when new blog posts are added. If the title is of interest, they will click through to your website. This gives subscribers an easy way to know when a blog has been updated.

Use White Space
Be sure to make your content scannable. Few website visitors actually read blog posts; most web visitors simply scan a blog entry to determine its relevance or point. With that in mind, the blog posts should be displayed in short paragraphs. Overly long posts should be segmented into concise paragraphs or broken into bulleted lists to make scanning easier. Avoid the urge to clutter the post.

Titles Matter
You only have seconds to grab the attention of scanners browsing your blog. Use keywords and catchy titles to draw readers in. Blog post titles can be bolded for emphasis and white space should be used to buffer the content.

Grammar Matters
You will be judged by your knowledge and use of the English language. Search engines will make note of blog entries that lack proper punctuation or capitalization. If a blog post does not respect the rules of grammar and punctuation, it is possible search engines will make the assumption that a bot cobbled together the posts leading to a potential ban.

Legibility
As with any web design select fonts carefully, do not use micro or macro-fonts. Colors should be web safe, making it easy to discern and read. The background and background color should not obscure the text.

Navigate
Give readers somewhere to go, include links to additional information resources or extended information in the blog post. Including links in the actual blog post will ensure back links should the RSS feed be syndicated.

Communicate
If you create a post about someone, let them know, they might surprise you and link back or they might blog about your blog post, essentially creating a virtual dialogue. This is an easy way to build link popularity. Be warned however, simply mentioning a popular blogger on a blog will rarely result in a link back, the content of the blog post must grab their interest.

Incorporate SEO
Blog posts should be written as you would write a web copy. Posts should be natural and make sense while still incorporating keywords and keyword phrases that relate to the content.

Speed Matters
Web pages that are slow to load will frustrate users, be sure to use reliable web hosting. Compress graphics to maximize load time.
Use your blog to help your website attract traffic. Attention to search engine optimization details could mean the difference between popular and unpopular.
